DAY 1 - MORE:stop
The holidays usually add more "to dos" and more events to our already over scheduled calendars. The more frazzled the holidays get the more you'll want to use this simple and easy practice.
Every time you get ready to move from one activity to the next, simply STOP.
Stop for at least one minute.
Done with your morning workout? Stop. Done with your meeting? Stop. Done with your day at work? Stop. Done with the dishes? Stop. Done with writing that email, or even that big report? Stop. Done wrapping presents? Stop.
Give yourself at least 60-seconds at the end of every activity to be, to let everything that just happened have a chance to integrate, to settle, before you move onto the next thing.
Breath. Close your eyes. Stare off into space. Smile. Just sit. Maybe stand with both feet firmly planted on the ground. Do nothing. Just be. For 60 simple seconds.
Rather than rushing and speeding off to the next thing, giving yourself one simple moment will help you feel more relaxed, rested, and complete with each activity, and each day, while helping you reduce the frazzle.
DAY 2 - MORE:breathe
Today we invite you to remember to breathe.
It’s not only the holidays but for many of us it’s the end of the all powerful fourth quarter and the fiscal year. We don’t know about you but that coupled with all the holiday parties and the shopping it can make even the most resilient of us feel overwhelmed and under nourished.
The best thing to do is remember to breathe. All it takes is three deep breaths in through your nose and slowly out through your mouth. The more you exhale, the more oxygen you can inhale and the more revived and energized you’ll feel especially during those moments of stopping before you start.
It’s amazing how much life three simple breaths can add to your day.
